Gulf Shores Community Information
Gulf Shores is the heart of Alabama’s Coastline with sugary-white sandy beaches and is a tourist city that has visitors from all over the US year round. With the family friendly atmosphere, Gulf Shores is ideal for spring breakers with children as well as “snowbirds”, retired people escaping the winter from the northern states.
Gulf Shores and neighboring town, Fort Morgan also have historical importance during the early stages of Alabama. Fort Morgan was a military fort that was built and used in the Civil War and both World Wars in various capacities to defend Alabama’s coastline and serves today as a living history museum operated by the Alabama Historical Commission. The famous quote from David Farragut during the Battle of Mobile Bay in 1864, “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead” was made at Fort Morgan. The Fort was also used as training base for World War I.
Gulf Shores is a great city to live and offers great investment opportunities due to the growth of the city and surrounding areas.
